Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Game Drive

• Morning:

  • Arrive in Samburu, either by road or by air. You can fly into the Samburu Airport or drive from Nairobi.
  • Check-in to your chosen accommodation within or near the reserve.

• Afternoon:

  • Have lunch and some rest.
  • Head out for an afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Your guide will take you to the best wildlife viewing spots.
  • Look out for iconic African wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species.
  • Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive and Cultural Experience

• Morning:

  • Start your day with an early breakfast.
  • Embark on a full-day game drive. This will give you the opportunity to explore different areas of the reserve and increase your chances of spotting a wide variety of animals.
  • Carry a packed lunch with you, and your guide will find a suitable spot for a picnic in the wild.

• Afternoon:

  • Continue your game drive in the afternoon, focusing on the animals and landscapes you haven't seen yet.
  • Optionally, you can visit a local Samburu village to experience their culture and traditions. You'll have the chance to interact with the Samburu people, learn about their way of life, and see traditional dances and crafts.

• Evening:

  • Return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation. Some lodges and camps may offer evening entertainment or cultural performances.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Departure

• Morning:

  • Enjoy an early morning game drive before breakfast. The early hours are often the best time to spot predators as they become active.
  • Savor your last moments in the reserve as you observe the sunrise over the stunning Samburu landscapes.

• After breakfast:

  • Check out of your accommodation and bid farewell to the reserve.
  • Depending on your travel plans, you can either head back to Nairobi or continue your journey to other destinations in Kenya.
